Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are critical to the success of the Guiding movement. Whether you are new to Guiding, have a few years under your belt or are a life-long member, young women and seasoned members can bring a variety of experiences to our organizations. Recruitment is currently underway for the following provincial-level volunteer positions.

- Nova Scotia adult Guiders with current membership
- Guiders of any age or experience bracket
- Guiders who have a passion for Girl Guides

NS is very fortunate to have dedicated volunteers to help our members experience the best Guiding can offer, but we can’t do it without help. Because members serve a period of three years in a provincial role, there are several positions that will be available this May and we are looking for interested individuals to join the team.
Available Volunteer Positions
Applicant interviews will take place no later than three weeks after posting of the position or if no applications have been received by this time, they will occur when the applications have been received.
Positions will be removed once filled.

Provincial Council Members
Area Commissioner Tri-Waters and Harbourside :Area Commissioner (AC) carries out the Vision and Mission of Girl Guides of Canada by promoting and administering the affairs of their Guiding Area. The AC is the leader of her Area and Chair of her Area Council. She provides leadership and, in her role on the Provincial Council, has input into decisions that support the implementation of policies and programs at the Provincial level of the organization.
Harbourside Area is also looking for a Deputy AC and an Area Treasurer.
Provincial Committee Members:
- Membership Adviser (Member Services Team): Plans and supports activities and processes relating to the growth, registration, retention, and recognition of girl and adult members within the areas and province.
- Awards Liaison: Coordinates, promotes and supports GGC awards and processes relating to Nova Scotia Bursary and recognition of girl and adult volunteers.
- Safe Guide Assessors: Is a member of the Risk Management Team, working with the Provincial Safe Guider Adviser. The Assessors review SG submissions to ensure the overall safety of Members participating in those activities.
- Finance Committee Members: Members are resources to the Provincial Treasurer to support Guiding in Nova Scotia Council.
- Camp 2026 - various Coordinators are needed: Health Services, Food Services, On-Site, Out-trips, Special Events, Program, Amenities, Transportation, Security, Registration, Communications and Facilities.
