The essence of those words, spoken long ago, are still very relevant and can be found today
in our Vision and Mission where we are challenged to develop personally and empowered to be responsible citizens where we can contribute responsibly to our communities.
And the most familiar way for most of us to contribute is by Service Projects!
Service projects are very different from Fundraising.
Service Projects support activities and events in a non monetary way.
From serving drinks at and Walk a Thon to singing songs with Seniors,
there are endless possibilities to provide service.
There are many service projects throughout our province that partner NS Guiding with positive,
like-minded people, businesses and other community or youth organizations.
The idea is to find a service project that fits your group's interests and goals - and your time.
Service projects can be either year-long in duration or they can be short,
one-time projects or events.
All Members in Guiding, from Sparks to Trefoil Guild, can participate in service projects.
Use your imagination,
ask the girls and women in your group, and ask in your local communities,
'What can we do to help?
You may be surprised at the answers….
and send us your ideas and stories about how you helped your Communities,
we’d love to share the successes!
