Provincial Youth Recognition Event Team Members

Did you know that a Provincial Recognition Event is held annually to acknowledge the accomplishments for the girl and youth members who have completed their Lady BP Award, Canada Cord or Chief Commissioner’s Gold Award?  At the same event we also recognize the youth members who have received the NS Bursary.

Did you know that this year’s event is being held in Halifax on May 26th and as always girls from across the province are invited to attend?

This event cannot happen without dedicated women, like you, who volunteer to help make this day a reality for these members.

This year we are looking for a Chair and Committee Members to make the necessary plans for this event and for volunteers to help on the day of the event. We know there are very talented Guiders across the province who  will make great contributions to this committee and encourage all interested to consider volunteering on the committee. Much of the planning will be completed via email and conference calls.

Can only volunteer for a couple of hours and want to still be a part of the event?  Why not consider volunteering to help on the day of event?

With the Support of the Deputy Provincial Commissioner – Youth Support and using established plans and vendors, the Chair and her team would coordinate:

  • the communication of the event to girls and Guiders,
  • applications / registration process,
  • order pins / awards / certificate and booklets
  • photography services and floral / decorations needs.
  • work with the venue for set up for the day’s events.

If you would like more information, please see http://www.girlguides.ns.ca/join-prov.html Youth Recognition section for Chair and Team responsibilities.

If you are interested in being a part of this event, please forward completed
volunteer application found above to Miriam.Macdonald@girlguides.ns.ca  by Feb 15th 2012
