Guiding Assistance Fund
In accordance with the mandate of Provincial Council, we are committed to have Guiding affordable for ALL who wish to be members. Donations to the Guiding Assistance Fund make this possible. The monies collected and held in this fund are available to assist any member who requires financial help for Guiding activities. Some expenses the Fund could cover include: Membership/registration fees, Camp fees, Conference fees, Workshop fees, Travel expenses, Childcare/Family care and Uniform to name a few.
Chief Commissioner Scholarship Fund
Donations to this fund will provide support to a Nova Scotia Guiding member(s) attending a
post secondary institution. The Chief Commissioner’s Education Support Fund was set up in the Fall of 1995 to commemorate the visit of the Chief Commissioner, Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada, to the Province of Nova Scotia. The Nova Scotia Chief Commissioner’s Bursary is awarded annually to Nova Scotia Guiding member(s) who wish to continue their education beyond High School.
Nova Scotia Council Archives
Donations, either financial or items of historical value, allow the Nova Scotia Council to continue to operate the Archives that contains the history of Girl Guides in Nova Scotia. Visitors to the Archives have shared that they are thrilled to be able to look back at our past through the uniforms, badges, books, crests, pictures and other memorabilia we have been able to preserve in almost 100 years of operation in Nova Scotia.
